Thank you Victoria. After the piece was published, I wrote a short letter to the editor which was not published by NYTimes. The coalition of Nigeria LGBT community wrote a letter to them which was also ignored. When I wrote this article, I was informed that NYTimes will be going against their correspondent in Africa if they have to publish a counter on the story. No media outlet will take my this piece up until I was introduced to Medium and I publish it here as I think the world needs to know the truth.

I am not sure based on the above that NYTimes will be interested in my piece
